Mustard is an architectural design studio and project management consultancy founded in Accra in 2015 by Alice Asafu-Adjaye, following 18 years of practice in the United Kingdom, working with Foster and Partners and Adjaye Associates. Prior to the establishment of Mustard, Alice was Director of African Projects for Adjaye Associates on projects is Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Gabon and South Africa, a period that yielded a wealth of experience ‘being on ground’ working on projects in various states of the design and construction process. Recently labeled as a ‘rising star’ by the London Financial Times, Mustard is a thriving ideas driven studio with a determined focus on sustainable bespoke design solutions, growing steadily and gaining attention internationally for its work in the ECOWAS region. Mustard currently has a staff compliment of 5 architects and designers, and undertakes projects in the residential, retail, commercial office, cultural, interior and graphic design, exhibition and education sectors.
